Satisfactory progress in attendance and academic work is a requirement for all students enrolled at OSBA. Note: Students receiving funds under any Federal Title IV financial aid program must maintain satisfactory progress in order to continue eligibility for such funds.
Three days tardy and/or three early clock-outs in any one month equal a day of unexcused absence. Four unexcused absences in a month will result in a 30-day probation. The Department of Education requires students to be making satisfactory academic progress to receive government funds.
Fifty-five (55) weeks are allowed to complete the 1500 hour program. Sixty-six (66) weeks are allowed for the 1800 hour program. A makeup fee of $6.00 per hour will be charged over and above the allotted time except excused medical absence. Excused medical absence requires written verification by a licensed physician or dentist.
Make-up Policy: For the 8-week freshman course, students are only permitted 4 absences. For the 5-week junior course, students are only permitted 3 absences. Exceeding the permitted absences, the student will be dismissed from class and rescheduled to a new start date.
After Completing: Freshman/Junior section, one Saturday per month will be required.
Probation, Suspension, or Termination: Can result after counseling with a student regarding repeated infractions of these policies, a student may appeal to the Academy Appeals Board.
