Grievance Policy

This policy is stated in the pre-enrollment packet to ensure that students are informed of the policy prior to enrollment. Ohio State Beauty Academy takes all student disputes/complaints seriously. Grievance procedures are provided for students who believe that they have been unlawfully discriminated against, unfairly treated, or harassed in any way. Academic grievances relates to a complaint about a course, program of study, or grade.

Students are expected to address any disagreements or conflicts directly with the individual involved- in person- with a written document outlining the complaint and communication. After this, if there is no satisfactory resolution, the student may set an appointment to see the Vice President of Operations & Development and the Director of Education/Clinic Supervisor. All communications regarding the complaint must be in writing and all meetings and communications will be documented in the student files. The grievance policy is as follows:

• ⇢ Complaints against students or employees must be made within one week of the issue. Complaint forms are available for use.
• ⇢ If the complaint cannot be resolved formally the student shall write up the details and submit it to Vice President of Operations & Development and the Director of Education/Clinic Supervisor who will research the issue and respond with a resolution. Once received, solutions will be evaluated and returned within 10 business days with a resolution.
• ⇢ Records of complaints and their resolution are retained by the institution according to the institution’s record keeping policy, as applicable.
• ⇢ If the complaint cannot be resolved after exhausting the institution’s grievance procedure, the student may contact the below regulatory agencies. However, if such a requirement violates applicable laws or regulations the student may contact the regulatory agencies prior to exhausting this policy.:
